Music

Passmores Music Department is a vibrant, inclusive department which offers something for everyone. Students can access tuition on a wide variety of instruments at
Music is compulsory at Passmores in Years 8 and 9. Students study a wide range of genres including blues, gamelan, classical music, jazz, musicals, African music, reggae and the Renaissance. Music lessons generally have a practical basis which may include using percussion, keyboard, guitar, voice or all of the above. Students also arrange and compose music using Cubase.
At KS4 students are able to take BTEC Music as an option subject. This is worth two GCSE grades. For Music students who are more academically minded and wish to take Music at A-level, provision exists to study the traditional Edexcel GCSE music course.
The Music Department is located next to the Hall and is comprised of a music technology suite (M1), a classroom (M2) and two practice rooms. There are a wide range of instruments available to borrow and hire. For further information on instrumental tuition, music classes, extracurricular music activities or performance opportunities, please see Mrs Revelant.
